The Man Who Started Scouting

Music and Lyrics by Peter Tam Copyright © 2007

Certain types of friendship     I can never forget
It was a scout troop     that was soggy and wet
We got a fire and      we started to sing
The challenge of the outdoor      is worth everything

We got an award       we’re just out having fun
Loads of adventure      and    story under the sun
You appreciate      and you learn to respect
For all living things      as you start to connect

On my honour  and I promises to do
My best at all times  and help people too
To do my duty to my god and the queen
Carry out the spirit that how it begins

100 years ago,  the movement start to grow
to the world as it bestow,
from the man who started Scouting

His name was Baden Powell        he’ written some books
Started up a movement     so that’s all did it took
Millions of people        they started to heed
Those who are scouting       because they started to read

I did my best and      I am better because
I was prepared   and had   the challenge that was
Taken by many     who came before me
mentors of life    in one family tree
